Ankit Ahuja’s,Despite his exit, Ahuja’s performance stood out among Team India, outlasting his compatriots Sahil Chuttani, Nikita Luther, and Apoorva Goel in the prestigious €5,300 EPT Main Event.

Ahuja, a two-time GPI (Player of the Year) India champion, had been riding high on recent successes, including a win at the GUKPT Edinburgh High Roller. His earlier 23rd place finish in the FPS Main Event provided a strong foundation for his run in the Monte Carlo tournament.

However, the battle for the coveted title rages on as 49 players survived Day 3, vying for the top prize of €1 million. Leading the charge is Turkey’s Selahaddin Bedir, boasting an impressive chip stack of 1,895,000. Hot on his heels are contenders like Jonathan Guedes from Brazil (1,810,000), Francisco Benitez from Uruguay (1,755,000), and Natan Chauskin from Belarus (1,745,000).

Bedir, with career earnings exceeding $5 million, has already left his mark on the poker scene with a notable runner-up finish in the €10,300 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller at the 2023 EPT Cyprus.

Day 4 of the EPT Monte Carlo Main Event sees an intense showdown, featuring renowned players such as the 2023 Irish Open champion David Docherty (1,680,000), Spanish sensation Adrian Mateos (1,160,000), and the elusive Triple Crown contender Dan Smith (1,020,000).

The excitement of Day 2 saw a surge of last-minute registrations, totaling 1,208 players, including 376 re-entries, and pushing the prize pool to a staggering €5,858,800. Indian hopes were high with four stars in contention, but Luther, Chuttani, and Goel fell short of the money bubble, leaving Ahuja as the lone Indian contender.

Day 3 witnessed intense action as 154 players fought for survival. Ahuja’s departure was a blow to Indian hopes, but Bedir’s commanding lead promises an exhilarating Day 4.
